Historical Background – 104th Territorial Defense Brigade:

The 104th Territorial Defense Brigade (unit A7054) was formed in 2018 as part of Ukraine’s national Territorial Defense Forces (TRO), with its command structure based in Rivne Oblast. Initially, its primary role was training reservists and securing critical infrastructure across northwestern Ukraine.

Following the outbreak of the full-scale war in February 2022, the brigade was mobilized to defend Rivne and neighboring areas, playing a key role in fortifying logistics hubs and transport corridors supplying the eastern front. In addition to its regional defense duties, the brigade dispatched battalions to reinforce Ukrainian units in eastern and southern combat zones, including operations in Zaporizhzhia and Bakhmut.

The 104th Brigade continues to perform its dual role of local protection and national defense, maintaining a high level of readiness and contributing trained personnel to Ukraine’s overall military effort.
