Historical Background – 107th Territorial Defense Brigade:

The 107th Territorial Defense Brigade (military unit A7056) was officially established in 2018 in Sumy Oblast as part of Ukraine’s growing Territorial Defense Forces. The brigade includes battalions stationed in Sumy, Konotop, Shostka, Okhtyrka, and other key cities within the oblast.

Following the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Sumy Oblast became one of the primary areas of early combat due to its proximity to the Russian border.
