Historical Background – 121st Territorial Defense Brigade:

The 121st Territorial Defense Brigade (military unit A7049) was established in 2018 in Kirovohrad Oblast as part of Ukraine’s efforts to strengthen its military reserve forces. The brigade comprises several Territorial Defense Battalions located in various districts of Kirovohrad Oblast, including Kropyvnytskyi, Oleksandriia, Holovanivsk, Bobrynets, Novoukrainka, and Svitlovodsk.

With the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion in 2022, the brigade’s units were actively involved in the defense of key regions. Notably, the 174th battalion was deployed near Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk, defending the village of Borivske in Luhansk Oblast. Other units operated in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts, capturing enemy equipment and participating in joint training exercises with Ukrainian Naval Aviation.

Throughout its service, the 121st Territorial Defense Brigade has demonstrated resilience and dedication, contributing significantly to Ukraine’s defense efforts during times of conflict.
