Historical Background – 12th Army Aviation Brigade:

The 12th Separate Army Aviation Brigade is one of Ukraine’s key rotary-wing formations, providing air mobility and direct fire support to ground operations. Headquartered in Novyi Kalyniv, the brigade has played an essential role in both defensive and offensive campaigns across Ukraine.

Since the onset of full-scale war, the brigade’s helicopters have been actively involved in frontline operations — inserting airborne troops, conducting medical evacuations, and supporting artillery strikes from the air. Despite high risks and contested airspace, its pilots and crews carry out low-altitude missions under enemy fire.

This insignia is Ukrainian-made and currently worn by combat aviators and technical personnel of the 12th Army Aviation Brigade during active service missions.
