Historical Background – 32nd Separate Mechanized Brigade (Ukraine):
The 32nd Separate Mechanized Brigade was established in 2022–2023 as part of Ukraine’s rapid military buildup to counter the Russian invasion. Formed mostly from newly mobilized soldiers and volunteers, the brigade quickly underwent combat training and was equipped with mechanized assets including infantry fighting vehicles and main battle tanks.
The unit is integrated into Ukraine’s active maneuver brigades and has participated in operations across the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia sectors. By mid-2023, elements of the brigade were reported to be engaging in heavy combat in the Robotyne and Verbove areas during Ukraine’s counteroffensive push.
As of 2024–2025, the 32nd OMBr remains an active frontline formation, executing complex operations under high-risk conditions. It has become symbolic of Ukraine’s determination to strengthen its army structure amid ongoing full-scale war.
