Historical Background – 44th Artillery Brigade:

The 44th Separate Artillery Brigade was formed in 2014 in Ternopil as part of Ukraine’s post-2014 military restructuring. Since its inception, it has become one of the most effective artillery formations in Ukraine’s Ground Forces.

The brigade has participated in all major phases of the war, providing critical fire support during operations in Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv regions. It is known for its skilled coordination of counter-battery fire, precision targeting, and rapid relocation under combat conditions.

The unit includes multiple artillery battalions, reconnaissance groups, fire direction centers, and UAV teams that enhance targeting capabilities. It often operates in coordination with mechanized and air assault brigades to provide integrated battlefield support.

This patch is an original Ukrainian-made item used by artillery personnel of the 44th Brigade in ongoing combat operations.
