Historical Background – 77th Separate Airmobile Brigade:

The 77th Separate Airmobile Brigade (Military Unit Number A4355) is a formation of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces, established in the summer of 2022 as part of the expansion of Ukraine’s rapid response capabilities.

Headquartered in Zhytomyr, the brigade underwent intensive training, with its first units completing basic training by October 2022.

The brigade’s combat debut occurred during the Battle of Soledar, where it, alongside the 46th Airmobile Brigade, played a crucial role in defending the settlement against advancing forces.

Following the events in Soledar, the 77th Brigade was redeployed to the Bakhmut sector, engaging in defensive operations and counterattacks to impede enemy advances.

The brigade has been recognized for its effective use of drone technology and precision strikes, contributing to its reputation as a formidable air assault unit.

In August 2024, the brigade was honored with the title “Transdnipria,” reflecting its connection to the historical region spanning both banks of the Dnipro River
