Bob Marley Squad Patch – 9×6,5 cm Russian Marine Insignia
The Bob Marley Squad Patch measures 9×6,5 cm and is a shield-shaped Russian embroidered insignia. The design shows a skull in a red hat with dreadlocks, framed by two palm trees and a yellow circle background. Above the image is the Cyrillic inscription “Отряд Боба Марли,” meaning “Bob Marley Squad,” while below runs the phrase “Убитых не убьёшь,” translated as “You cannot kill the dead.”
The patch is stitched in vivid green, red, yellow, and black threads, echoing Rastafarian colors. It has a reinforced black edge for durability. The size and shape fit standard Russian army insignia dimensions, suitable for placement on jackets or uniforms.
This patch became known in May 2022 when Wargonzo correspondent Dmitry Seleznev reported seeing it among 810th Sevastopol Marine Brigade troops after battles for Mariupol. According to marines wearing it, the slogan carried a superstitious meaning: being part of the Bob Marley Squad meant survival.
Such insignia are part of non-standard morale patches used by Russian marines during the war, combining humor and grim symbolism. Collectors value it for its rare design, historical background, and connection to the 810th Marine Brigade.
