Rechitsa-Brandenburg Patch
DESCRIPTION

Rechitsa-Brandenburg Patch honorifics bestowed upon Soviet military units during World War II for exceptional bravery and effectiveness in key operations. The patch serves as a tribute to the units’ distinguished service in the liberation of Rechitsa and the advance into Brandenburg.

The Rechitsa-Brandenburg titles were awarded to Soviet military units in recognition of their exemplary performance during critical World War II operations:

  • Rechitsa (November 1943): Units played a pivotal role in liberating the city of Rechitsa from Nazi occupation during the Gomel-Rechitsa Offensive.

  • Brandenburg (April 1945): Forces distinguished themselves during the advance into the Brandenburg province of Germany, contributing significantly to the final defeat of Nazi forces.

Notably, the 3rd Guards Anti-Aircraft Artillery Division was honored with these titles for its outstanding service in these operations. Post-war, the division underwent several reorganizations, eventually becoming the 1489th Guards Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment stationed in the Leningrad region.
