This Russian Assault Trooper Skull Patch displays «ШТУРМОВИК-ЗАТЕЙНИК» in red beside a pale cartoon skull on a dark rectangular field. A natural rendering of the playful phrase is “Assault trooper and prankster” or “The inventive assault trooper.” The skull has an exaggerated open mouth and a red tongue, giving the design a comic expression rather than the more severe face seen on many military skull motifs.

The Russian wording is important to the joke. «Штурмовик» can refer to an assault soldier or to a ground attack aircraft, depending on context. Here it is paired with «затейник», a word for someone who devises amusements, tricks or lively ideas. The combination produces the incongruous humorous title. The illustrated skull and informal second word are the basis for the translation used in this description.

The face places the skull on the left and the two part inscription on the right. Red text occupies two horizontal lines, with the hyphen visible at the end of the upper word. The pale skull contrasts with the dark ground, while the tongue repeats the red of the lettering. A dark outer border encloses the complete rectangular composition shown in the photograph.

As Russian assault slogan insignia, the item is identified through its exact sentence and cartoon image. The comic skull badge differs from round skull designs with stars or a perimeter motto. It also differs from a plain written name strip, because the exaggerated face forms a substantial part of the layout. Those features distinguish this example when several military humour pieces are displayed together.

For collectors cataloguing a Cyrillic infantry themed patch, keeping the original wordplay alongside an English explanation is more useful than substituting an unrelated slogan. The product photograph records the particular expression, red lettering and dark border of the individual specimen offered. One item is available at €25. The listing concerns the rectangular cartoon version pictured here, with the complete Russian wording retained above for identification. Its visible front provides the reference for both the translated title and the arrangement of the skull beside the two lines of text.

The complete front design is visible in the supplied photograph.
