Russian Tank Unit Patch – Unit 58198 “Chertkovsky” – 8.5×10 cm with Velcro

This Russian Tank Unit Patch 58198 “Chertkovsky” represents the 1st Guards Tank Regiment, one of the most elite armored formations in the Russian Armed Forces. Known for its distinguished combat history, the regiment traces its origins to the 1st Guards Tank Brigade, forged in the fires of World War II.

The regiment earned the honorific “Chertkovsky” for its role in liberating the town of Chertkovo and is a recipient of multiple Soviet and Russian military awards, including:

• Two Orders of Lenin

• Order of the Red Banner

• Orders of Suvorov, Kutuzov, and Bohdan Khmelnytsky

In 1976, the regiment was officially named after Marshal of Armored Troops M. E. Katukov, its legendary first commander.

Today, Unit 58198 is stationed in Kalininets, Moscow Oblast, and serves as a frontline component of the 2nd Guards Motor Rifle Division, part of Russia’s strategic defense force.

Since February 24, 2022, the regiment has been participating in a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
