Russian BARS Reserve Patch – White Leopard and Red Rings

DESCRIPTION

This Russian BARS Reserve Patch carries «БОЕВОЙ АРМЕЙСКИЙ РЕЗЕРВ СТРАНЫ» around the outer band, with «РОССИЯ» beneath a large pale leopard head and «БАРС» along the bottom. Red rings outline the central area and perimeter against a black circular field. The animal has a red eye and open mouth, matching the red framing and providing the particular colour arrangement shown in the photograph. The complete reserve name is written around the animal.

The long Russian inscription expands the acronym БАРС. A natural English rendering is “Combat Army Reserve of the Country,” usually shortened in English discussion to Combat Army Reserve. The initials come from the Russian words rather than from that translation. The word «барс» also means leopard, explaining the relationship between the name and the animal illustrated in the centre of the design.

BARS is connected with Russia’s military reserve framework. Municipal information published for reservists uses the same expanded name and describes the programme in connection with the Ministry of Defence. The visible inscription here is general: it gives the reserve name and Russia, with no numbered detachment or regional title added. The catalogue identification therefore follows the complete wording on this specimen.

As Combat Army Reserve insignia, this example differs from regional versions that add a place name beneath the animal or a detachment number beside it. The BARS leopard badge shown here has a broad circular inscription, a pale spotted head facing sideways and a separate lower panel for the acronym. The red outlined centre leaves «РОССИЯ» directly beneath the animal, making that placement another useful point of comparison.

The photographed Russian reserve force patch is offered as one individual specimen at €25, with one available. The supplied front image records its full wording, animal head and circular border. The English title preserves BARS as the established acronym, while the expanded Russian text and translation are provided above for readers who do not read Cyrillic. The listing concerns the pictured general reserve design, including its red eye, pale lettering and black ground. Those visible features identify this example without replacing its inscription with the name of a particular regional formation.
