The Russian Tricolor Bear Patch carries “Россия,” translated as “Russia,” below a roaring bear wearing a military-style helmet. White, blue and red patterned bands occupy the background in the same top-to-bottom order as the Russian national flag.

The helmeted bear insignia combines a national name with an animal illustration. The green lettering and central bear remain separate from the three colored background bands. No regiment, battalion or organization is named on the face.

This Rossiya flag badge is identified by its Cyrillic country name, helmeted head and tricolor pattern. The Russian wartime animal patch has a rectangular outline and a dark border. Its design supplies a national theme without identifying a particular military formation.
